The Epson Stylus SX115 offers printing, scanning and copying in one compact, space saving device. It is also good value for money with a price tag under a £50 from competitive retailers. However printer manufactures have been known to offer printers at a greatly reduced price just so they can sell you expensive replacement ink cartridges. This is not the case of the Stylus SX115, the printer ink cartridges come in the form of four individual ink cartridges (black, cyan, magenta and yellow) and a full set costs about £30 (which is reasonable compared to some of the competition). An alterative to genuine Epson ink cartridges are compatible Epson SX115 ink cartridges which cost half the price but don’t contain Epson DURABrite ink. DURABrite ink is an ink technology developed by Epson which they claim improves print quality and helps reduce fading of prints over long periods time. There have been many test carried out comparing genuine ink with compatible ink from a number of different sources and the results show that there is very little difference to the eye when it comes to genuine and compatible ink. The SX115 perform very well at all the things is it designed to do, it’s strongest feature is its print quality which is equal to that of printers twice it price and it weakest feature is it print speed. Overall it’s a great value for money device.
